
Acclaimed dressage ride rand trainer accepts ambassadorship
Albion England welcome world-renowned German dressage rider and trainer Matthias Rath as a brand ambassador. Within his role, Matthias will showcase Albion England’s esteemed equestrian offering to his circle of influencer, together with amplifying the brand’s presence in European markets, particularly Germany.

Matthias’ career reads as nothing short of dressage domination. He started making an impact in 2006, when he won the Piaff grand prix final in Stuttgart on Renoir-UNICEF, repeating the feat the following year on the same horse. In 2008, he won the German National Championships grand prix title on his horse Sterntaler-UNICEF. The pair then helped Germany win team bronze at the 2009 European Championships in Windsor. The following year Matthias came eighth in the World Cup final on Triviant-UNICEF and picked up team bronze at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Kentucky with Sterntaler-UNICEF.
Matthias’ achievements have since included 1st place at the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal with Es Fangar’s Samba King in 2014, 1st place at the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at CDIO in Hagen with Totilas, and most recently, qualification of Destacado for the World Championships of Young Horses in Ermelo, where he won the silver ribbon.

The brand has grown to employ over 75 craftsmen and women in its Walsall factory, producing over 100 British-made saddles a week and supplying the very best of the equine world, with founders Paul and Sherry Belton still firmly at the helm. Albion England has this year undergone and exciting evolution and rebrand, adding sporting and lifestyle divisions to complement the existing equestrian offering.
Matthias joins Albion England’s existing network of Sponsored Riders, which reads as a roll call of some of the very best names of the equestrian world. The brands affiliations currently include Anabel Balkenhol, Laura Tomlinson, William Fox Pitt and Emile Faurie to name but a few, proudly compete from the seat of an Albion saddle.
